Last night I dreamed of chickens
Last night I dreamed of chickens,
there were chickens everywhere,
they were standing on my stomach,
they were nesting in my hair,
they were pecking at my pillow,
they were hopping on my head,
they were ruffling up their feathers
as they raced about my bed.
They were on the chairs and tables,
they were on the chandeliers,
they were roosting in the corner
they were clucking in my ears,
there were chickens, chickens, chickens
for as far as I could see ...
when I woke today, I noticed
there were eggs on top of me.

vintage peacock for Shelly
Shelly asked for a birdpage in vintage style. I dumped peacock, lace edging and white cotton into tea for a tinted effect. The peacock is embellished with wax pearls and the blue lace has ivory colored beads that I received through a swap. Being Dutch, I'm not really familiair with vintage. I was glad this one turned out OK

Funky Bird
Last night I received this gorgeous page by Frances. She didn't have to make up a funky bird, because the Australian emu qualities completely for this title.
I love the emu print and photo's and also the handmade silkpaper is gorgeous.
Thank you Francis, I love everything you've made and sent. A lovely addition to my book.

flower page for Francis by Cobi
I like to wrap the page like it's a little present.
Francis asked for pages with a garden or flower theme. I love making and working with flowers, so this was right up my alley. I made the background fabric from 2 pieces of hand dyed cotton which I cut in strips and then braided together again. Alle leaves and flowers come from my stash. Flowers are folded in 3.
This is the backside of the page. I enjoyed making this page but it took so much time that I fell behind making pages. But I'm working on it.

page for Francis
The page I made for Francis is still working it's way through the mail system. Here you can see a bit of the backside of the fabric shining through. Front will be revealed upon arrival.
page for Sue
Susie's theme is "what I like to see". I had many idea's for this page. I love to see my family and pets. I love trees, fungy and flowers. I love chocolate and cherries. And what to think of books, knitting yarns and such.
Finally I decided to go for colors. I love my fabrics, either hand dyed or bought. I love embroidery.
Working abstract is something I'm still learning, but I'm getting the hang of it (at least, I think so). Here you see the lay-out, the base onto which I built the page.
I searched my sheer fabrics with the help of my kitty.
I picked some hand dyed cottons too. I started out with some blueish-greenish fabric and added colors to that. In the end I had to drop the initial fabric, but I'm happy with this combo.
I had a lot of fun with embellishing with various types of embroidery floss and beads.
But I don't think this is what Susie was expecting.
