Susies page for Cobi

Last night I dreamed of chickens
Last night I dreamed of chickens,
there were chickens everywhere,
they were standing on my stomach,
they were nesting in my hair,
they were pecking at my pillow,
they were hopping on my head,
they were ruffling up their feathers
as they raced about my bed.

They were on the chairs and tables,
they were on the chandeliers,
they were roosting in the corner
they were clucking in my ears,
there were chickens, chickens, chickens
for as far as I could see ...
when I woke today, I noticed
there were eggs on top of me.

Frances, from Australia, wanted her pages to be "In the Garden".  I thought she might like to walk along a path in her garden and view a variety of flowers.  I mixed hand embroidered, silk embroidered and purchased flowers with embroidery on top for her garden. Shelly from south Florida, USA

Tea - Page from Francis

This is the front of the page I received from Francis. Those are pictures of some of her favourite teapots, photographed and printed onto fabric.
This is the reverse with a ride at the amusement park called the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.Even the little note has a small teapot charm which is so cute.
Thank you for a beautifully personalised page Francis.

This page is the third page of my book.

Theresa's theme is travel.  She has been travelling and I saw a fabulous article in this summer's issue of Quilting Arts magazine featuring  mobile campers.  I made Theresa one I would like to have to take the FL Keys.  Shelly

Tea - page from Helen

I ought to have introduced myself in my first post but since that didn't happen I'll do it now.
my name is Maya and I live in Southern India. I'm a part of this delightful group and my theme is Tea. I love tea.
This is the first page I received from Helen in South Africa. made with tea bags and cut outs of different tea pots. There is a golden shimmery fabric on the top and therefore the details of this beautiful page could not be captured in the photograph.
Helen sent me a tea bag of Rooibos tea, so I got to taste this tea for the first time. Helen also sent me a postcard of Table Mountain which will go into the pocket on the back of the page and a lovely piece of  fabric with prints of blue and white china teacups and teapots. I plan to make the cover of the book with this fabric.
I've received two more pages. I shall be posting pictures and details of the pages next week.

Vintage Bird for Shelly

This is the page I created for Shelly.
The theme was Vintage Bird. The vintage got a tiny bit bling but It was a page which came together with not much prior planning.

page for Sue

Susie's theme is "what I like to see". I had many idea's for this page. I love to see my family and pets. I love trees, fungy and flowers. I love chocolate and cherries. And what to think of books, knitting yarns and such.
Finally I decided to go for colors. I love my fabrics, either hand dyed or bought. I love embroidery.
Working abstract is something I'm still learning, but I'm getting the hang of it (at least, I think so). Here you see the lay-out, the base onto which I built the page.
I searched my sheer fabrics with the help of my kitty.
I picked some hand dyed cottons too. I started out with some blueish-greenish fabric and added colors to that. In the end I had to drop the initial fabric, but I'm happy with this combo.

I had a lot of fun with embellishing with various types of embroidery floss and beads.
But I don't think this is what Susie was expecting.
